In class we had to do more teaser work for our SLJ. I chose the one were you have to use the similes.

Biteable

In class we were trying out a new tool called Biteable. Biteable is a site where you can make videos and other stuff. my Biteable is a acrostic poem about respect called respect for others. This was really fun using a new tool because usually we just use the same google drawing or slides but this was more fun and different.

Wk 9 synthesis work

for our reading work we had to make a controller for the game dart but your fighting underwater against aliens. We had to do this because our story was about a kid who was good are darts and thought of it as just a game.

For our teaser week we had to make a poster to advertise the summer learning journey. We could have used any type of way to make this but I chose a simple google drawing.

WK 8 Synthesis work

In class for our reading task we had to make an illustration about a story that we have wrote. I made a picture from my character description about spongebob. it is not that good but it is decent.

Come to our Market day!

At St Bernadette's on the 6th of November at 2pm we are going to have a market day.

In our class we are selling all sorts of things. we are selling spiders (fizzy with ice cream), waffles with all sorts of things on them, paper briquettes, also guessing how many lollies is in a jar and last of all throwing wet sponges at kiwi can leaders. So for this market day we made posters and I am here to show you mine. My one is about the spiders. but on other peoples blogs in my class they might have different posters unless they were in my group for this work.

Christmas acrostic poem

In class we have been learning about all different kinds of writing this year. So every week we have to choose a different piece of writing and write about it. This week I chose a poem. And for my poem I did an acrostic poem about christmas.

Christmas day is a day where we celebrate Jesus’ birthday.

Helping us also on christmas day  Is the extraordinary santa with all of his presents.

Riding on our new bikes and playing all the new toys.

I  personally think that christmas makes everyone spoiled. 

So everyone loves christmas but some people forget that christmas is all because of Jesus and not Santa.

This christmas though I am going to not just think about the presents.

Most of my family think about how it is Jesus’ birthday so I think I will get a good reminder to remember Jesus on this day

As always it still would be fun to still get a present. 

So what I am trying to say in this acrostic poem is to remember that it is Jesus’ birthday and don’t get annoyed if you don’t get any presents.

 

Dung beetle (last post)

In class  didn't get to finishing my work so I did it this week because I finished my work this week and yeah here it is. But it is a information web about what helps dung beetles survive.

The real story of Hansel & Gretel

In our school the seniors (us) got to go on a trip to the national ballet stuff. we watched Hansel and Gretel but only the second act because it was to long. After that we had to make the true story of Hansel & Gretel. This means that we could make our own version of Hansel & Gretel. Here is mine


The true story of Hansel & Gretel
 There was once two little annoying and dumb kids. Their names were Hansel & Gretel. They lived in a poor family so you would think they would be really nice and grateful but NO not these kids. They liked to eat all the food before anyone could cook it or they would go and annoy their parents for no reason. This got them in big trouble because after all the stuff that they did they would get hidings and smacks. 


 But one night they decided to take
 all the food and run into the forest while leaving bread crumbs to find their way back. This wasn't smart though because instead of going home and looking at the reaction of their parents they were found lost with no food. While walking around they stumble across a houses with a witch in it (still in disguise).

 As the two siblings walk in the witch jumps out of nowhere telling them to eat up. They went to a couple of chairs and then some gingerbread man came out. But what the witch planned did not work instead of her gingerbread man feeding them normal food they ate the gingerbread man. As more and more marched out they get devoured every single time. Hansel shouts out to Gretel “This is a feast”. 

 As the witch sighs she runs at Hansel but Hansel grabs a candy cane off the wall and dodges. While the witch gets up Hansel gives her a big spanking SMACK she was out cold. It was so hard that it made an earthquake.

 Hansel and Gretel ran out of there and turtled straight away. While the earthquake stopped the two kids came out of there turtle possien. 

 Even though it took them super long they picked the house up and found their way back home (it took them 1 year). But when they got home they had changed. They were way nicer and more considerate of the food even though they had a whole house made out of it. 

But the witches mum came with her daughter and knocked on the door. Gretel opened the door and ran and got her parents and Hansel. Hansel and Gretel were scared so they walked behind their parents and as they got to the door the witches mum gave them a big smack on their bum. So hard that there was a red mark on it and you could hear it from kilometers away. And of course the little girl witch got a spanking as well and all of them had to say sorry.

 Then after that Hansel and Gretel were rivals with the witch. The witch would send gingerbread men at them everyday and the two kids would keep on killing the witch over and over. And of course they always got a good spanking after that.

 But the mama witch had enough of reviving her daughter so she stopped and she killed Hansel and Gretel so then they could fight somewhere else while the mama witch went and destroyed countless towns and while the parents adopted new kids and became rich and ate ice cream and other treats all day.

WK 7 synthesis work

In class we finished doing the dung beetles stuff so now we are back to the synthesis work. This one was about making a trap for an animal called the stag without killing it because in our story the boys dream of becoming a hunter but when they killed the stag his hopes died. I enjoyed this because I got to draw all of the different stuff. My trap is about the walls closing in on anything that goes in and leaves food and water.

SLJ practice activity

In our class we had to put down 3 facts as a practice run for the summer learning journey.

Fact 1:Did you know that there is a thing in new zealand called a waka. A waka is a big wooden boat that a lot of people need to use paddles to get around in it.

Fact 2: In New Zealand January and February are the hottest months in the year

Fact 3: There is a myth in New Zealand that Maui pulled up the north island And it was a fish.

Dung Beetles(post 2)

Today for my second blog post I had to make a Dung beetle into a super beetle that can take all the poo and survive. I took this and I made something cool and when you look at it you will laugh and then think it is a bit ugly. This was my creating task that I did and there is one more that I have to post.

Dung beetles (post 1)

In class we have been learning about dung beetles. Dung beetles are the whole reason that the earth is not covered in poo because they eat it.

In our task though we have to make a slide or a doc and we have to do 3 or more posts about our tasks. this one is my first one and it is about how they get there dung. (there are 3 ways they get there dung but I have done just one).

Narrative writing

Is class we have just started learning again about Narrative writing. We had to write a story about anything with some rules. Then we had to check with each other if it was good and give feedback.

The rules:
Language features (idiom metaphor etc)
Use paragraphs 
Your character has to speak 

Dingo and the explosion 

 As I the almighty Dingo the Dino looked up from my food a face of fear popped onto my face as I screamed out
 “Ahh”.
 she screamed as she saw the meteor flew right at her. Jimi the Jinzhousaurus was running up to everyone saying 
 “the end is here”. 

 I ran around looking for a shelter that would protect me from the gigantic burning rock. Then I looked at a cave and thought to myself that if I go in deep enough I will and barricade the entrance I might just stand a chance. When I started to barricade it slowly got darker and darker until there was just a little hole With a missing rock. 

 As I looked out I saw that the meteor was about to hit. So I plugged the missing hole and ran down as far as I could. While I was about half way down I heard a Thundering BOOM and CRASH.

 I went up the cave slowly and took the little rock out and looked out there. No one was there. I went and unplugged the entrance I looked around. It was like a wasteland out here. I sobbed and screamed out 
 “Why did this happen”. 
 I walked around looking for anyone. I finally found some water and drank some. I was so sad that I just feel into the water not caring at all. But when I got up I saw something in the distance. I ran and to my surprise it was a human and he was all alone. So I go up to him, he smiles at me and say 
 “Hi”
 “Hi” 
I say back The human freaks me out he then asks for my name, I say 
“Dingo the dino”. 
As we talk, we get to know each other and I found out that his name was jackson. So we go and live together until we are really old and we die.

Week 5 synthesis work

IN class we had to do our weekly synthesis work. This basically is our blog post for reading. In our synthesis task we hadx to make something that would clear out mountains for airstrips and a easier way to get building supplies up mountains. We had to do this task because we read an article about Sir Edmund Hillary and what he did. One of the things that he did was help make schools and hospitals and all of that helpful stuff. But they had to wait ages for the supplies because people were going by foot. so this machine makes it easier.

Weekly synthesis work

In class we had to do our weekly blog post on something. I did this on making a bunker for surviving lava. While doing this I had to think of what to put in their how I would want to set it up and I set it up really weirdly.

Spongebob descriptive writing

In class we first started our descriptive writing with being in buddies and write about anyone that we wanted to. Me and my buddie choose spongebob. In this story we had to add types of speech like similes or personification and more.






 He is as yellow as the sun. It's The Yellow Sponge That can squeeze all the way down and also has mini pits in him. He is a Magical Sponge that can’t get hurt. His Signature is the unbelievable SPONGEBOB DUN DUN DUHHHH!!!!! 

Spongebob is a crack up sponge Just like a comedian. His finest friends are patrick and squidward but squidward is always going BLAH BLAH BLAH. He works at the Krusty krab in Bikini Bottom. And of course no one can forget the almighty gary the snail. He is also outstanding at making Krabby patties.

 He is Dazzling yellow. Where's a Magnificent suit and a Foolproof tie. Also always has his Unique Spatula, and he also wears black Glossy shoes that are magical. He is also very short and square Shaped. He wears the same clothes every single day.

 SpongeBob has a little pickle with Plankton Because he annoys Spongebob for the Unknown Formula. He also sometimes has a predicament with the flying dutchman who is a ghost pirate and also king neptune who is the emperor of the ocean and shoots lasers with his trident that go BANG!!!. 

In conclusion spongebob is an insane magical sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. He is also a horrible civilon in Bikini Bottom but makes the Supreme Krabby Patties to make up for it. He is a Sponge that squeezes and splashes everywhere.

Flower competition

In our class we were making flowers for a flower competition. This is for like the environment. In class for our nature thing we are doing printmaking. Also It was really cool seeing how everyone else's went.

Descriptive writing

In class we have been going over descriptive writing  and so we had to describe these things in this slide show but I haven't finished it yet so there will be some slides blank.
